Chapter 147: B - Epilogue: Until death do us part
“I, Eliss Narkhalis, take you, Aoshi Toya, to be my husband.”
Eliss’s voice trembles so much with emotion that she can barely get the words out.
When she’s done, she takes a sip from a goblet she and Aoshi are holding together. Inside is a broth made from an animal that, in the Kingdom of Ravessia, is considered a symbol of prosperity and good fortune.
Raelor then turns to Aoshi.
“I, Aoshi Toya, take you, Eliss Narkhalis, to be my wife, until death do us part.”
He takes a sip from the same broth.
The taste is absolutely disgusting, and he almost throws up.
But the awful flavor vanishes from his mind the moment he sees the annoyed, puzzled look on Eliss’s face.
“Until death do us part? What kind of creepy wedding vow is that?” Eliss grumbles.
Aoshi instantly panics when he notices the other guests don’t seem too happy about that part either.
“W-Well… that’s just something we always say at weddings on Earth. It’s supposed to be romantic, you know? The idea of staying together until we’re old, only being separated by something unavoidable… B-But if it bothers everyone, I can take that last part back…”
“If that’s how humans say it, then I accept it. I’m sorry for getting upset…” Eliss murmurs apologetically.
With the misunderstanding cleared up, Raelor speaks.
“By the authority granted to me by King Azhelar Narkhalis, I now declare your union official. May the spirits of our ancestors watch over and bless you both.”
The moment he finishes speaking, Aoshi leans forward and kisses Eliss.
She freezes.
“A-Aoshi… someone’s impatient. At least wait until we’re alone in our room… I didn’t know you could be so bold…” Eliss murmurs, blushing.
Aoshi jerks back and immediately bows deeply.
“I-I’m so sorry, everyone! That’s another human wedding tradition. U-Usually this is the moment when the bride and groom kiss in front of everyone to seal their love.”
“Oh… well, that’s actually a really sweet tradition. We should start doing that here,” Eliss says.
Then she gently cups Aoshi’s face, lifting his bowed head.
This time, she’s the one who catches him off guard with a kiss.
“Princess Eliss… or I guess just Eliss now. You’re already getting used to human traditions, huh?” Raelor asks with an amused smile.
“Of course! As soon as the celebration’s over, we’ll go back to Earth and get married the human way too. I’m just getting a head start!”
Then she goes right back to showering Aoshi with kisses without the slightest bit of embarrassment.
The lighthearted mood doesn’t last long.
One of the guards quietly walks over to Raelor, whispers something in his ear, then steps away again.
“Please excuse me. There’s something I need to take care of. I’ll join you shortly. Go ahead and enjoy the banquet without me,” Raelor says with his usual calm expression.
Even so, something is clearly bothering him, no matter how well he hides it.
Outside the ceremony hall, the same guard is waiting for him.
“Where is that bastard?” Raelor asks, no longer bothering to hide his irritation.
“He’s in the underground level. After we refused to let him in because of Eliss’s wedding, he snuck inside anyway. He killed three of our strongest guards in seconds and said he has no intention of leaving until he’s spoken with you.”
“I see. Pull every guard out of the underground level. I’ll deal with him myself.”
“At once, Commander!”
A moment later, Raelor’s order is carried out.
The underground halls of the royal palace are completely evacuated.
When Raelor arrives, only two people remain.
Raelor and a figure dressed entirely in black.
“I don’t know who you are or what you want from me, but you’d better get to the point. The sooner you talk, the sooner I can kill you and get back to my business.”
A sinister laugh echoes from beneath the man’s black hood.
“Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Vadim Thalukvar.”

Tokyo. Twenty-one years later.
“So… when’s Uncle Raelor getting here? I’m starving…” grumbles Yuzu Toya, the youngest of Eliss and Aoshi’s three children at eleven years old.
Dinner is already on the table.
Gathered around it is the Toya family: Eliss, Aoshi, little Yuzu, their oldest daughter Iris Toya, now twenty, and their son, Ren Toya, who is fifteen.
Uncle Raelor. That’s what the kids call him. To Eliss, he’s always been like a brother.
Every now and then, Raelor takes some time off and visits Earth to spend a few days with Eliss and Aoshi.
He comes over at least once a month, and Iris, Ren, and Yuzu love him like he’s family.
After the wedding and Eliss gave up her title as princess, she and Aoshi stayed in Ueda until he graduated from college.
After that, Aoshi got a job at a major software company in Tokyo, and they moved there, buying a cozy house with the gold King Azhelar had given them as a wedding gift.
Even after all these years, nothing makes Aoshi happier than coming home from work to his wife, the smell of her amazing cooking, and their three wonderful kids.
Before meeting Eliss, he never could’ve imagined a life like this.
“Be patient, Yuzu! Uncle Raelor will be here soon! And no whining at the dinner table!” Eliss scolds her.
“After dinner, can I ask Uncle Raelor to spar with me? Iris and I have been training a lot, and I want to show him how much stronger I’ve gotten!” Ren says, barely able to contain his excitement.
“Your uncle’s probably tired from work. Let him get some rest while he’s here,” Aoshi says. “Besides, Ayane and her husband are coming over for dinner tomorrow. So make sure you’re all home at a reasonable hour, okay?”
“Ugh… fine…”
Ding dong!
“Oh, finally! We can eat!” Yuzu cheers the moment the doorbell rings.
“Just make sure you wait until your uncle’s sitting at the table before you start,” Aoshi reminds her as he gets up to answer the door.
“Welcome, Raelor. Come on in—”
Zap!
A blast of purple lightning erupts from Raelor’s palm.
An instant later, Aoshi’s charred body crashes to the floor.
An endless second of absolute silence follows.
No one says a word.
It’s so sudden, so completely unbelievable, that no one wants to accept what they’re seeing.
Then reality sinks in.
A heart-wrenching scream fills the house.
“R-Raelor… why…? Why did you do this…? T-This can’t be real… This… this is just a nightmare…”
That’s all Eliss manages to say.
She’s crying so hard she can barely breathe, while their three children stand frozen in fear and shock.
“I’m sorry, Eliss. I really am,” Raelor says in a flat voice.
He raises his arm toward her, and purple lightning starts crackling around his palm.
“I-Iris… Ren… take Yuzu and run! Now!” Eliss screams with everything she has as huge purple wings burst from her back.
“B-But Mom… we can’t leave you—”
“I SAID GO! NOW!”
Ren and Iris don’t need to be told twice.
He picks up little Yuzu, and the three of them run toward the back exit.
“O-Okay, Mom…”
“R-Raelor… what the fuck is wrong with you?! Why did you kill my Aoshi?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! TELL ME!”
A violent wave of purple energy erupts from Eliss’s body as she glares at him with murderous rage burning in her eyes.
A bitter smile spreads across Raelor’s face.
The woman standing in front of me… she’s the same fearless, determined Eliss from the night I forced her to leave Aoshi and return to Elyndra. I’m glad to see that, even after living as a human all these years, deep down you’re still the proud, fearless succubus princess you used to be…
…But unlike that night…
A single tear rolls down Raelor’s hardened face.
…this time, I really have to kill you.
A devastating beam of energy bursts from Eliss’s palm and shoots straight at Raelor, but he blocks it with ridiculous ease, wrapping himself in a bubble of electricity.
But Eliss has no intention of giving up.
She charges at Raelor in one last desperate rush, but the gap between them is overwhelming.
Raelor’s lightning-charged fist slams into her stomach. Electricity tears through her entire body.
Raelor’s unique spell, known as Paralysis Magic, doesn’t just deal devastating damage – it also seals the target’s mana.
And without her magic, Eliss is nothing more than an ordinary human woman.
Pinned to the ground by the pain, Eliss can barely lift her head.
Beyond the doorway, she spots another figure standing behind Raelor. A young vampire with long orange hair, watching everything with a sadistic grin and eyes full of pure malice.
With the last scraps of strength left in her body, Eliss drags herself toward Aoshi’s corpse. She reaches for his hand, but all she can do is brush her fingers against it.
Tears stream down Eliss’s scorched cheeks.
“…until death do us part…”
