Chapter 67 - 66: Scorching Heat and Thorns

0 Views 0 Comments

Zhuogu was exceptionally tall and powerfully built, far more so than an ordinary Lizard-man.

He stood nearly three meters tall, his body covered in thick, dark-red scales. His vertical pupils held a faint golden-red glint, like two smoldering flames.

This was proof that the Dragon Race blood within him was far purer than that of an ordinary Lizard-man.

Seven or eight Lizard-men followed Zhuogu, each with an aura as profound as an abyss. They openly radiated powerful waves of Magic Power, clear signs that they were all elites who had reached the Golden Tier.

His gaze swept over the fiercely fighting Dwarves, his golden-red vertical pupils narrowing into two dangerous slits.

“Thorvin.”

Zhuogu’s voice cut clearly across the battlefield, reaching everyone’s ears.

“Gray Rock Castle is interfering in this war. Do you mean to make an enemy of the Molten Spike Tribe?”

Thorvin sneered. “When the Molten Spike Tribe attacked our ore convoy two years ago and killed more than a dozen of our clansmen, I don’t recall you saying anything like this.”

Hagrid, being hot-tempered, immediately started cursing, “Cut the crap, you old reptile! I’ve had it with you bastards for a long time. Today, we’ll settle old and new scores all at once!”

Zhuogu’s face darkened, killing intent boiling in his vertical pupils.

“Very well.”

“Since Gray Rock Castle wants a war, I will oblige you!”

“After I’ve annihilated the Silver Moon Clan, Gray Rock Castle will be next!”

Although it was somewhat unexpected, Zhuogu was confident he could achieve victory even with the Elves and Dwarves joining forces.

The Stone-skinned Giant Demons were not his only trump card.

The three Dwarven elders just sneered, completely unfazed by Zhuogu’s threat.

The Great Elder stepped forward slowly, a rare, stern look on his face. “Zhuogu, the time has come to settle the blood feud between the Silver Moon Clan and the Molten Spike Tribe.”

The instant his words fell, countless thorns erupted from beneath his feet. They twisted and grew like living things, lifting him into the air.

Midway up, the thorns rapidly split and expanded, completely enveloping him. In the blink of an eye, they transformed into a hawk made entirely of thorns, which then shot across the battlefield like a bolt of lightning, diving straight for Zhuogu.

Zhuogu scoffed, took the War Axe from his back, and kicked off the ground with explosive force. He shot into the sky like a cannonball, wrapped in a searing heatwave, and slammed into the approaching thorn hawk.

BOOM!

The two collided heavily in mid-air. Ripples of energy spread out in all directions, transforming into a violent shockwave that swept across a radius of several hundred meters.

Many Elves, Dwarves, and Lizard-men were sent flying, thrown into utter chaos.

The mere aftershock of their clash was so terrifying that both allies and enemies nearby instinctively retreated to create distance.

At the same time, the Clan’s upper echelons and the three Dwarven elders also charged, rushing toward the Golden Tier Lizard-men to find their own opponents.

For a moment, the center of the battlefield became an arena for Golden Tier powerhouses. The roar of colliding energies boomed like muffled thunder, cracking the ground and sending rubble flying.

Anton, however, did not join this fight. Instead, he shot straight toward the rear of the Lizard-man army.

A Lizard-man noticed the lone young Elf and lunged at him with a roar.

Anton’s expression was calm. With a flick of his finger, a wisp of five-colored flame shot from his fingertip, striking the Lizard-man in the chest like a shooting star.

BOOM!

The Lizard-man instantly became a human torch as flames erupted from between its scales.

It didn’t even have time to scream before being burned to ash in a few breaths. Not even a skeleton remained, only a puff of dust scattering in the wind.

Anton continued forward, flicking his fingers repeatedly.

Wisps of Five Elements True Flame shot from his fingertips like a swarm of locusts, landing precisely on the surrounding Lizard-men.

With every boom, another Lizard-man became a torch and was reduced to ash.

Wherever he passed, he left piles of ash behind, as if forging a gray-white path through a desert of death.

The Lizard-men retreated in terror, their vertical pupils filled with fear.

A few Silver Tier Lizard-men exchanged a glance and charged toward Anton in a coordinated effort, intending to stop the young Elf.

Anton didn’t slow down. A dazzling five-colored radiance suddenly erupted from his body.

The Five Elements True Flame erupted from within, completely enveloping him. Flames of cyan, red, yellow, white, and black swirled across his body in a mesmerizing cycle, making him look like a god descended from the heavens.

In the next instant, he transformed into a streak of five-colored light and slammed into the charging Lizard-men.

The Lizard-men didn’t even have time to grunt before they were instantly incinerated, while Anton continued unabated, streaking toward the rear of the Lizard-man army like a meteor.

Wherever he passed, the Five Elements True Flame swept through like a heatwave, burning one Lizard-man after another to ash.

In just a few breaths, Anton had cut a path from the center of the battlefield to the enemy’s rear, leaving behind a scorched and smoking road of ash more than ten meters wide.

Hundreds of Lizard-men had been annihilated, turned to dust.

Even in the midst of their fierce battles, the Golden Tier combatants on both sides had their attention drawn to this scene.

Casian, Cedric, and the others were fine, as they had long since witnessed Anton’s methods.

The three Dwarven elders, however, were seeing the young Elf in action for the first time, and looks of irrepressible shock appeared on their faces.

This level of killing efficiency was far beyond even that of a Golden Tier Caster.

’It’s one thing to have exceptional talent in potions and Alchemy, but to be this outstanding in battle as well?’

While his allies were surprised, the Lizard-men were utterly horrified.

A few of the Golden Tier Lizard-men grew anxious, wanting to break away to deal with Anton, but they were firmly tied down by their opponents.

And just then, Anton stopped and swept a hand over the Dimensional Bag at his waist.

In an instant, hundreds of golden beans flew out of the Dimensional Bag, tracing dense golden arcs through the air as they fell all around like a meteor shower.

TING! TING! TING!

The sound of the golden beans hitting the ground was as dense as rainfall, a continuous stream of crisp impacts.

The next moment, dazzling golden lights bloomed one after another, rapidly coalescing into humanoid figures about three meters tall.

In the blink of an eye, a hundred Yellow Turban Warriors had appeared at the rear of the Lizard-man army.

The Lizard-men were stunned by this sudden development. They stared blankly at the behemoths that had appeared out of thin air, forgetting to attack for a moment.

The Yellow Turban Warriors, however, did not stand around dazed.

They took heavy strides and charged fearlessly at the nearest Lizard-men, raising their Golden Melon Hammers high and bringing them down with a dull whistle of wind.

CRACK!

With one strike, a Lizard-man’s head exploded like a watermelon, splattering red and white matter everywhere.

Another Yellow Turban Warrior swung its hammer in a wide arc, sending three Lizard-men flying at once, the crisp sound of their bones shattering clearly audible.

The Lizard-men shrieked in terror, slashing at the Yellow Turban Warriors with weapons and claws. But the weapons that could easily pierce leather armor only left shallow marks on the Dark Gold Armor, failing to cause any real damage.

’What are these things?’

The few Golden Tier Lizard-men who saw this were filled with shock and uncertainty.

They had seen plenty of Golems before, but these massive yellow figures were completely different in style from common Golems. They were more like giant Warriors clad in golden heavy armor, and their combat power was extremely formidable.

’Since when did the Silver Moon Clan have a trump card like this?’

The appearance of the Yellow Turban Warriors, as expected, threw the rear of the Lizard-man army into chaos.

Though not numerous, each one possessed mid-Silver Tier combat strength. On the battlefield, they were meat grinders, and the Lizard-men broke and fled before them.

After unleashing the Yellow Turban Warriors, Anton turned and charged toward the Stone-skinned Giant Demons, beginning to slaughter the hulking beasts.

In the face of the Five Elements True Flame, the tenacious Life Force the Stone-skinned Giant Demons were so proud of was completely useless. At best, they lasted a few seconds longer than the Lizard-men, but the result was the same: being reduced to ash.

Attacked from both the front and rear, the Lizard-man army fell back in defeat.

The scales of victory were tipping sharply in favor of the Elves and Dwarves.

While slaughtering his enemies, Anton also kept an eye on the duel between the Great Elder and Zhuogu.

To avoid catching their own people in the crossfire, the two had tacitly moved away from the center of the battlefield, relocating their fight to an open area to the west. Their battle had already reached a fever pitch.

Zhuogu’s body was shrouded in a dense red light, and the air around him was distorted like heat haze by the extreme temperature. As he alternated attacks with his claws and War Axe, he unleashed visible torrents of heat that caused even the rocks in his path to glow red and begin to melt.

Faced with such a ferocious assault, the Great Elder remained as steady as a mountain. Countless thorns formed a multi-layered barrier around him, neutralizing all of Zhuogu’s attacks.

Watching their battle, a strange glint flashed through Anton’s eyes.

’Heat and thorns…’
